It all started back in November 1999 when Kobe Bryant was in the studio working on his debut musical album "K.O.B.E.". That's where he met Vanessa while she was working as a back-ground dancer on a music video shoot for "G'd Up".
Vanessa was scheduled to appear in Kobe's music video for "Thug Poet" but it was never released.
Kobe said when he saw her, he walked up to her & tapped her on the
shoulder & asked her what her name was. He said he fell in love with
her right then & there because "It was something about the way she said her
name & the sparkle in her eyes".
They got engaged during her senior year @ Marina High School in
2000. Her engagement ring is 7-carats in size & valued @ $100,000.
She never graduated from Marina High school because of the chaos surrounding her relationship with Kobe. So he paid for her to be home schooled thru independant study
On April 18, 2001, Kobe & Vanessa were married at St. Edwards Catholic
Church in Dana Point, CA. No one from Kobe's side of the family attended the ceremony, not even his Lakers team mates nor his agent. After exchanging nuptials, the couple drove
off in his black Ferrari Modena.
According to Vanessa's cousin Laila Laine, there was no prenuptial agreement. Vanessa said Kobe "loved her too much for one".
In 2003 Kobe met Kate Faber at a Colorado hotel where he was
visiting to have knee surgery. The two had an affair & Kate filed rape
charges immediately after. The alleged charges against Kobe which were eventually dropped. He held a press
conference @ The Staples Center & made a public apology to Vanessa.
Soon after the accusation, he bought Vanessa a $4.3 million
8-carat, rare purple diamond ring as a way to say he was
sorry. It's been reported by Rafinity Jewelers in Santa Monica, CA that the ring was ordered before the rape charges were filed but didn't arrive until after the charges broke thru to the media.
There was a tell-all book (Dead Women Tell No Tales: the truth about the Kobe Bryant Rape Case). It was written by Patrick Graber who was an ex-employed bodyguard for Kobe & Vanessa. In the book Patrick says that Kobe told him that he wanted Kate Faber dead. Read the insert

Following the purchase of the infamous $4.3 mil dollar ring, Kobe renewed his
vows to Vanessa with a surprise $50,000 recommitment ceremony on Crystal Cove
State Beach in Laguna Beach, CA.
But soon after the recommitment, Kobe was caught cheating again. Rumors were circling that he wanted to divorce Vanessa, but no legal action was taken!
In September 2009, pictures surfaced the
web stating that Kobe was cheating with a Lakers Cheerleader named
Vanessa Curry. Soon after the news broke, Vanessa Bryant cursed out an ESPN
reporter & Kobe made the accusing website to
remove all images and information for the sake of his marriage thru
his lawyers.
Althou no one can say if he was really cheating with VC, we all
know that Kobe cheats. And this is not any "new" news to his fans. His ways of forgiveness to Vanessa would obiviously be thru his pockets.
